PESHAWAR: The Bomb Disposal Squad on Sunday defused three mortar shells in the suburbs of Peshawar.

According to police, the Bomb Disposal Squad was called in after receiving information regarding the presence of mortar shells in open fields in Nasirpur area.

Police claimed that the shells were placed to create panic among the residents. It is to mention here that unknown miscreants exploded a local made bomb through a remote control near the house of a Jamat-e-Islami.
